Datsun- Reliability with Modernity

Datsun was an automobile brand name of DAT Motors Co. Ltd. and its successor, Nissan Motor Corporation Limited. In 1931 DAT Motors was the first who created the name ‘Datson’ for their new small size car models of the existing larger DAT cars. After the take over of DAT Motors by Japanese based automobile manufacturing company Nissan Motors Co.Ltd., the name ‘Datson’ was changed to ‘Datsun’ as the suffix ‘son’ in Japanese language means loss. The name Datsun is renowned for their sports car models cited to as the Fairlady 240Z coupe.

The first model Datson was manufactured in mid of 1931 under the head of Nissan Motors. The first vehicle was named as Datson Type 10 and sold approximately 150 cars within two years. After the revised permit of 750cc engines by the Government, the company produced the second models of Datsun and was called Datsun Type 12. They continue to manufacture new models over the next forty years.

In 1970, Datsun launched a prominent sports car the 240Z or Fairlady Z. This Japanese produced model contended with the best of them. Over the next 31 years after the release of the Datsun 240Z, the brand name Datsun was changed as the name of Nissan. It will not be fair to leave Datsun 510. This model was a series of the Nissan Bluebird sold from 1968 to 1978, and launched outside the USA as the name of Datsun 1600.

Again in 2001, Nissan commercialized their D22 pick-up model in the name of Datsun, but the brand name was entirely restricted to this particular model. Great performance equipped with simple and reliable models have helped the Datsun to remain a well-liked automotive fancier’s cars for over the forty years.
