Aston Martin: The Craze for the British Sports Car


Living and surviving in the modern society obviously means not only surviving the tough competition, but also staying ahead of all the rivals. The car manufacturing industry forms no exception to the rule. Moreover, in a world where change is the only constant characteristic of life, survival in the ever changing sport car market is a proof in itself that the car produced by the company is a highly competent one. Aston Martin is a name that has stayed ahead in the competition with flying colors.
Aston Martin has produced an amazingly good variety of cars that has charmed the lovers of this British sports car. The models include DB9, the V8 Vantage and the V12 Vanquish. Now, let us see what makes these cars so special.
The great Aston Martin DB9 offers a 6.0 L 450 brake horsepower (335 kW). The V12 engine that it is equipped with comes from V12 Vanquish, another car from the same name. As stated earlier, the great name has managed to beat the competition. DB9 competes fiercely with 911 Turbo from Porsche and the F430 Ferrari.
Next in our list is Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Equipped with a 4282 cc engine, it produces 380 hp (283 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 302 lb-ft (409 Nm) at 5,000 rpm. The highly competent V8 Vantage engine is assembled manually at the factory in Germany. The engine performs so well that the results show a 75 mph - 280km/h top speed and a naught to 60 mph time of less than 5 seconds.
And now, we move on to V12 Vanquish. This model of the cars boasts of the most powerful engine among all the Aston martin cars. The aluminum composite body provides electronic traction control and throttle, a formula-one style six-speed gearbox along with all other gadgets. The car competed so fiercely that many called it “Porsche killer”!
The great name is going to offer several other models in future.
