Honda – Synonymous of Creativity

Honda is counted as one of the fifth largest automobile manufacturer company, just behind Chrysler the 4th largest automobile manufacture in the world. Motorcycles, automobiles, robots, marine engines, jets and jet engines, aeronautical, mobile technologies and other garden and lawn equipment are the different area that company manufactures. Honda produces approximately 15 million internal combustion engines annually. Currently, the company is the second largest automobile producer in Japan ahead of Nissan and just behind Toyota.

In September 1948, Soichiro Honda officially founded the Honda Motor Co. They started with ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ model motorized bicycle and tricycle. In 1954 Honda produced their first scooter model and soon become top motorcycle manufacture in Japan. By the end of 1959, the company was the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world, producing more than one million units a year.

In 1967 the company started manufacturing cars and trucks. Honda Civic was the first car of the company and then came Accord. By the introduction of Acura, a luxury car in 1980, Honda became one of the leading car manufacturers in the world. Since 1980s, the company is working in partnership with Rover in the development and marketing of the Rober 200, 600 and 800/sterling. The Company continues to grow while producing new automobile. Now in order to vie in the tough automobile industry environment, the company has focused on its research and development wings. 

The company has a number of first in many groups that include the first luxury Japanese car 1985 legend, first engine to meet the 1970 US Clean Air Act and first mid size pickup truck 2006 Ridgeline equipped with independent rear suspension as well as first  motorcycle 2006 gold wing bike set with an airbag. Alongside making some of the world’s best automobiles, the story of Honda is also a lesson of creativeness and firmness.
