Hummer – Messiah of Rough Terrain

Hummer. Remember, those big vehicles having hefty, mammoth tyres. Due to which it appears like jumbo plane. And crushes and pulverizes everything that comes in its way. Really, it make those vehicles, cars look extraordinary when it stands beside other trucks, buses, cars. The tyres are about eight to feet high. They are too heavy and three to four feet broad. Now, you can imagine how the vehicle looks like. It should be called a Hammer and not Hummer. A typical monster.

The design of these monstrous vehicles was inspired from the High Mobility Multipurpose Vehicles, which are for army uses. It was originally built by AM General Corporation in 1992, having production units in Michigan and Detroit, US. The model was named M998 and it was made for utility purposes. The Hummer made historic journey from London to Beijing through the rough, bumpy roads of Russia in 1990. Hummer traveled and went through the roads with very ease.

Actually, Hummer was meant to travel through the rough terrain roads. So, its production began. In 2006, Hummer automobiles set for International Business and it succeeded in making select importers and distributors in Europe and other markets. From the Production unit of Port Elizabeth in South Africa, Hummer H3 models are produced and exported to Australia, Middle East, Japan and even in South Africa itself. It has a production unit in Kaliningrad, Russia.

Due to high fuel consumption and powerful engine it normally becomes unfit for use of common people. And the day by day soaring oil prices is creating more trouble for such types of vehicle lovers. The maintenance charge is becoming very expensive. Other to it, heavy noise and pollution is lending environmentalists and ecologists an excuse to ban on this heavy vehicle. Altogether, Hummer is at risk of extinction in this modern green society. Last but not least, if you wish to travel long distance in rough terrains, you won’t find alternate of this superb vehicle.
